My excess water bill seems very high, how can I tell if I have a leak?

It’s possible you have a leaking pipe outside your house – either a slow leak or a fast one - so the first thing to do is check for wet areas around the house. If that doesn’t seem to be the issue, the next step is to check your toilets for water leaking into the bowl and the cistern constantly refilling. If you turn off any noise and listen, you may be able to hear dripping or running water from the effected taps or pipes. Call the experts today!
I have no hot water, what should I do?

Check all the hot water taps to see whether the problem is isolated to one tap. Also check your cold water taps to see if they are working. Check the metre board in case the safety switch has been tripped. Check to see if you tank is leaking. If the issue is still there, contact your local qualified plumber.
There are odd noises coming from my hot water tank, what do I do?

There are a few things that could cause this, it’s often from built up sediment which can often be fixed by flushing the tank. We recommend you call your local plumber as it could be due to any number of things, either minor or more significant. You don’t want a small problem turning into a much bigger one. Get the help of the experts today!
I have a burst water pipe, what do I do?

First turn off the water supply at the water metre to stop the water flowing.

Contact your local qualified plumber as soon as possible. If the burst pipe is external and you have to wait awhile for the plumber you can turn the water back on but only if it’s safe and only to do what’s necessary – shower or flush the toilet. If the burst pipe is inside your home, do not turn the water back on for any reason. Your local plumber will have a number for emergencies and will often provide 24 hour service for plumbing emergencies.
